  <title>Global Gathering (23/11/08)</title>
  <link>http://www.perthraving.com/News/article/sid=219.html</link>
<description>Since its announcement a few weeks back Global Gathering has been hyped as one of the year’s most essential events. The festival tour will see UK organiser the Angel Music Group joining forces with local brands Future Entertainment and Ministry of Sound Australia. The wraps have now come off the first round of artists, and as promised you get all the info here on inthemix first!

As to be expected the caliber of artists in the first round is second to none, with the bill topped by British funk heavyweight Mark Ronson. It’ll be Ronson’s debut tour of Australia and comes hot on the heels of his headline performance at Global Gathering in the UK just last month. Ronson’s album Version was one of 2007’s most successful releases and featured guests like Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse and Robbie Williams. Joining him on the Australian tour; his full 10-piece band!

Not to be outdone, joining Ronson at the top of the line-up are certified electronica legends Kraftwerk. The German pioneers of dance music haven’t toured Australia since the 2003 Big Day Out, and earlier this year they caused a stir when headlining the Coachella festival in the USA. Responsible for introducing ‘robot pop’ to the world, their impact on modern electronic music is profound having produced legendary tracks like Autobahn, Tour de France and Trans-Europe Express.

Another long overdue debutant to Australian shores, get ready to experience the cutting edge performance art of NYC electro outfit Fischerspooner. On the DJ tip there’s progressive godfather Sasha (excluding Perth), fast rising uplifting trance superstars Above &amp;amp; Beyond, and also Felix Da Housecat. This is only the first raft of artists, with many more still to be announced!

Kraftwerk live, Mark Ronson &amp;amp; The Version Players live, Gorillaz Sound System, the Orb live, Fischerspooner, Above &amp;amp; Beyond, Felix Da Housecat, ATB, DJ Sneak, Dirty South, The Potbelleez live, Kazu Kimura, La Riots, Larry Tee, The Stafford Brothers and Tydi, with many more still to be announced...

<title>Al Storm (Warped Science, UK) (21/11/08)</title>
  <link>http://www.perthraving.com/News/article/sid=217.html</link>
<description>First appearing under his original DJ Storm alias around 1996, Al Storm has a glittering resume matched by very few in the rave scene. With early production skills taught by the likes of Fade, Ham, &amp; Luna-C Al’s breakthrough came with the hugely popular 90’s anthem &#039;Beating of my Heart’.

Over the last 14 years he has continued amassing an impressive discography of well over 100 releases and countless remixes. Despite DJing all over the world, and producing relentlessly, Al Storm has still found time to devote to his engineering work, with a diverse client list which includes legendary names such as: Hixxy, Darren Styles, Scott Brown, Seduction, Slipmatt, Billy &#039;Daniel&#039; Bunter, Ultrasonic, The Prodigy, Altern-8, Alex Gaudino, Rozalla, Fedde Le Grande, Nick Skitz, Matt Darey, Supermode and Vinylgroover. Al has undertaken a significant share of the engineering work on the hugely successful Helter Skelter / Ministry of Sound compilations, and Seduction’s mixes on the acclaimed Hardcore Adrenaline / Hardcore Nation series.

Having run several labels over the years including&#039; Raindance Records, Destructive Force, Cloned, Underground Recordings, in 2001 he started his current label &#039;Warped Science’ with label &amp; studio partner Mike Euphony, and has already been scheduled up to its 60th release by the end of 2008 as Al hits our Australian shores.

Friday 21st November 2008

Door sales only 10pm-6am.
Rise members $5 before 11pm, $10 thereafter.

<title>Pharmacy Vol 6 CD Launch feat Kamui (14/11/08)</title>
  <link>http://www.perthraving.com/News/article/sid=216.html</link>
<description>Pharmacy Vol 6 CD Launch feat Kamui (DE)

Dominik Felsmann and Patrick Scheidt are German based duo Kamui who can look back on their success of over 30 releases on several renowned record labels over the past five years. This has been enough time for them to develop their very own sound, which is best described as being &quot;Hardfunk&quot;. Proving that harder-edged music can be fresh and funky, yet tough and credible, they deliver the goods for the whole DJ range from electro-trance hero to hard dance gladiator.

Unsurprisingly their sweat and blood causing studio work has qualified these guys to play exclusive DJ gigs around the globe. 2006 saw the start of their tour of major countries including Australia, Canada, Sweden, the UK, Germany and Holland, where the massive Dutch event Dance Valley was held in 2007. With their clubsmasher and BBC Radio 1 favourite &#039;Electro Slut&#039; 2008 has boosted their profile with another tour of Australia, the Defqon 1 festival in Holland, QBase Germany, numerous UK gigs and debuts in countries such as Estonia and Ireland. After just having released their two-tracker &#039;Toolbox EP&#039; further new productions already await in the pipeline, hitting you soon in the clubs all over the world. You better get your water buckets ready because Kamui are on fire!

Along with Sean Tyas, Deadmau5, Tiesto, JOC, Zany, Donkeyrollers, Vandall and Alex Kidd Kamui has contributed to the latest Pharmacy release Vol 6 mixed by Scot Project, LCK and Hellraiser.
